Message from the Headteacher

Welcome to Cockburn Haigh Road Academy

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our school website. I feel privileged to have been part of the amazing community of Cockburn Haigh Road for many years and now as Headteacher.

Our school is a welcoming place where children are known, valued and cared for as individuals. The dedicated staff team are passionate about giving every child the very best start to their education and together we ensure that they feel valued both as individuals and as part of the school community.

Being part of the Cockburn Multi-Academy Trust gives us the opportunity to work collaboratively with other schools, share expertise and benefit from the strength and support of being part of a wider group of schools. At the same time, we remain proud of the unique character and close-knit community that makes our school so special.

Our vision is simple: We nurture hearts and minds so every child can thrive. We have high expectations for all our pupils and believe that children thrive when they are in an environment that excites curiosity, builds confidence, and celebrates individuality. Alongside academic achievement, we place great importance on kindness, respect, friendship, inclusion and therefore helping children to develop the confidence and character they need for the future.

As I begin my next chapter as Headteacher, I am looking forward to working together to build on all that is already wonderful about our school. Partnership with parents and carers is incredibly important to us, and I look forward to working with you to ensure that every child can flourish.

There is so much to look forward to, and I am excited about the journey ahead. Together, we can continue to make our school a place where children love coming to school, feel proud of who they are and develop a lifelong love of learning.
