Sport and Physical Health

After school clubs will recommence in September 2022. Initially we will use the ACE (Health for All) coaches and then build in other clubs in the Spring term. All children will be invited to the ACE after school sessions, scheduled across the whole academic year.

Outdoor Learning

Our renewed focus on outdoor learning begins with our very youngest children in Nursery.

Both Nursery and Reception have their own dedicated outdoor areas and learning takes place across both the indoor and outdoor classrooms. There is a focus on building physical skills and wellbeing and children have access to the outdoor provision as much as possible, throughout the day.

Staff in Key Stage One build outdoor learning into their curriculum wherever possible. Maths in particular, often lends itself to practical work using play equipment and outdoor resources. In addition we embrace opportunities to teach children the joys of being outdoors. These include our visit to the to the Methley Farm Estate to choose our Christmas Tree, a visit from a den-building expert and joining in with the Bikeability scheme.
